Turn The "Polar Vortex" Phenomenon Into A Tasty Treat With This Great Recipe for Snow Cream

(Image Via www.npr.org)
For most of the country, a blanket of snow is still on the ground from the great polar vortex that swept the country by storm. While the frigid temps and icy roads made for a treacherous few days, there is one thing that could have made it better, snow cream. This yummy dessert is a great go-to for a snowy day, and it will have you saying yum. (By the way, some people think it's not safe. I don't find that to be the case, but eat it at your own risk I guess.)
Anyway, you want to set a large bowl outside to collect falling snow. Some people pick snow up off the ground, but that's just nasty. Do it this way. Anyway, when you have your bowl filled, take it inside. Then you want to add milk (about 1/2 cup), as much sugar as suits your fancy, and a couple tablespoons of vanilla. Mix the ingredients together, and the result is utter deliciousness, and it will give you something to be thankful for when you are freezing your buns off living in a polar vortex.
(P.S., I was going to make some, but here in the Pacific Northwest it was nothing but rain this week so I used this file image from NPR. Sorry.)
