Scary Review: American Horror Story: Coven "Boy Parts"

Last night was episode two of the fear filled season of American Horror Story: Coven. It started with two gator hunters out in the swamps of Louisiana. After killing a gator, they retreat to their camp, where Misty Day, that poor Cajun girl who got burned at the steak last week, waited for them. She doesn't approve of their ways, you know killing animals and all, so she brings the gators back to life and they eat the men who hunted them. Then it's time for credits.

We return to see the girls at the "witch school", as I call it, getting ready for their morning meeting. When Cordelia goes to fetch Fiona for the ritual, she notices that something stinks, but Fiona blames the foul odor on some herbs that she is burning. The real reason for the smell, of course, is Madame LaLaurie because living in a box for 130 plus years really takes a toll on one's personal hygiene.
The girls go down for morning ritual, and two police officers show up asking questions about the bus accident and why one of the guys died after Zoe visited him at the hospital. While Madison keeps her mouth shut, Zoe blurts out the whole thing, including the fact that they are witches. Fiona enters as she is telling them this, gives the cops some water she spit in, causing them to lose the memory of coming to the school and give her all of their files.Seeing what Zoe did, Fiona gives Zoe a good scolding about being weak after throwing her and Madison into a wall.
Meanwhile, Cordelia is facing infertility problems. She and her husband discuss using magic to fix their problem, but she insists that she doesn't want to. Fast forward to later in the show, where they decide to use magic and end up having sex. The sex, which takes place in a pentagram, or something like it, involves them talking to each other in Greek. It also makes snakes appear.

Madison and Zoe break into the New Orleans morgue where the frat guys mangled bodies are. They use pieces from each guy to make the perfect guy, but when Madison says the spell, it doesn't work. She goes back to the car, and when another car pulls up, decides to get the hell out of dodge. Zoe, meanwhile, uses the spell successfully, and her new boyfriend who is like Rocky from "Rocky Horror Picture Show" ends up killing the guy, and they both escape. On the way back to the school, Zoe and her new Frankenstein like partner get a surprise when Misty Day pops up from the backseat.
Meanwhile, Fiona is with Madame LaLaurie, and she learns that Marie Laveau cursed Madame LaLaurie with immortality. This scene led to a flashback where LaLaurie walks out of her house to find Laveau with a group of angry people. The mob, which shouts their hatred of LaLaurie, also took the liberty to hang all of LaLaurie's children leaving her to live forever alone. Then they stuff her in the box. Fiona doesn't seem to care about the story though, she just wants to find Laveau to get her spell of immortality.
Back at the school, Nan get tired of hearing LaLaurie's thoughts and lets her go. When LaLaurie sees Queenie, she yells racial epithets and knocks her out with a candlestick. Nan, not phased a bit, looks on to the whole scene.
Zoe, in the meantime, is back with Misty Day in some old shack near the bayou. Misty tells her that she knows the perfect cure for Zoe's boyfriend, but it will take a while. Zoe agrees to leave him their with her, and she promises to return even though she seems skeptical of Misty's intentions.

After finding out about the spell, Fiona goes to get her hair done at a salon in the Ninth Ward, where Marie Laveau, who is also immortal, works. She and Laveau get into a big conversation about voodoo vs. witchcraft, and Fiona asks Laveau for the spell. Laveau tells her about how much abuse African people and voodoo practitioners have gone through at the hands of witches, and she refuses to give her the spell. This causes Fiona to set some wigs on fire and leave, leaving Marie Laveau to her Minotaur lover.
Upon returning from the salon, Fiona finds LaLaurie on the street. She tells LaLaurie that she will not get far, and that it won't be pretty if she tries to escape again. The ladies have a chat about how LaLaurie was a woman of her time (blah, blah, blah), but Fiona still tells her she thinks she's evil. In the end, the two ladies head back to the school and the credits roll.

Next Week- LaLaurie becomes a maid.
P.S. Sorry if I got the chronology wrong. Only watched the episode once. Please forgive me.
