New: First Pic Of North West (A.K.A. Baby Nori), Daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

It's been a few months she was born, but North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, made her debut today on grandma Kris Jenner's talk show.  The world has speculated about what the offspring of Kimye would look like, but now the speculation is over. I think she looks a whole lot like Kim and not much like Kanye, but that's my personal opinion.  What do you think about the pic of Baby Nori? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

Day Trip To Larch Mountain Near Portland, Oregon: Part One

Late last month, we decided to go on a day trip to some of Oregon's scenic mountains. I took a lot of pics, and I thought I would share some with you. The first set of pics is when we went to visit Larch Mountain. This extinct volcano stands at 4,061 feet, and it has views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Jefferson, and Mt. Adams.  The morning we went, it was cloudy on the ride up, but we were above the clouds and had nothing but blue skies by the time we reached Larch Mountain's peak. It was like nothing I had experienced before, and I hope that sharing some of the pics will you will give you a tiny taste of the beauty I enjoyed at Larch Mountain
The clouds covered the valley that morning, making for a beautiful spectacle.

The green trees on a blue backdrop were so breathtaking.

I think that this is Mt. St. Helen's, but I'm not sure.

One of the five mountains we saw that day. One of the mountains that we saw is Mt. Rainier near Seattle.

The elevation that we were at got me freaked out, but I stuck in there and experienced the beauty.

The mountain's peak.

It was such an amazing day.

Parenting: Be Polite To Those With Kids On Planes!!!!!

(From technorati.com)

Every now and then I fly back home to see my family. Flying can be stressful for anyone. There's all that waiting if your flight gets delayed, and then your shoved into a plane with strange people you don't even know for hours on end. If it wasn't for the quick travel times that one can have by flying rather than driving, I don't think anyone would subject themselves to being on a commercial aircraft.

What gets me though is how rude people can be to parents who bring their kids on planes. I have been on a flight where someone complained loudly that a parent needed to hush their baby up, and I have seen many other people moan and complain about children who cry and act up on planes. While I may not have kids, I must say that these people really make me angry. They sit their with their mightier than thou attitudes, but they don't realize one simple fact.

The parents who are having to put up with the screaming kids are having a hard enough time as it is. We, as humans, are not made to want to sit still in a confined space for hours on end. This is especially the case with kids. They want to get up, explore, and have fun, and being on a plane goes against their nature. The moms and dads of these kids have to try to get them to stay still, but the simple fact of the matter is that parenting is hard to do on a plane. It does not always work, and sometimes the kids cry. If that upsets you or gives you a headache, I guarantee that the parents of these children are a whole lot more frustrated and probably have a whole lot worse of a headache than you do. After all, the screams are at much high decibels when they come from your lap than when they come from two rows up so if your going crazy from the crying I can guarantee you that the parents of the kids are going absolutely mad!

So next time you are on a plane and a kid starts to cry and act up remind yourself that the parents of the kids are having a harder time than you are, and be understanding. After all, if you want to have kids one day you will probably be in the same place, and I guarantee you it won't be fun. It goes back to the golden rule and treating others like you would like to be treated. Doing this makes life better for everyone, and it can truly change the world. So be polite to parents on planes and happy travels!

Movie Night Cap: Shirley McClaine And Jack Black Star in "Bernie"

If you want to watch a movie that will make you laugh, cry, and say "oh my!," all at the same time, Bernie is what you are looking for. This dark comedy is based on a true story of flamboyant Texas mortician named Bernie Tied who befriends aging widower Marjorie Nugent (Shirley McClaine). As their relationship progresses, Nugent becomes more and more possessive, and this causes Tiede to eventually murder her and keep her in a freezer for month's on end.

While the movie may seem sad in its description, it's anything but. The whole thing is littered with commentary of the people of Carthage, Texas, (both real and portrayed by actors) who have a lot of funny things to say about both Bernie Tiede and Marjorie Nugent. It will have you falling out of your seat in laughter, and it will have you wanting to watch it over and over again. It may be dark, but it will bring light to your day with its funny antics and hilarious portrayal of an extremely dark topic. So cap off your night by watching "Bernie" or catch it on a time when you are feeling blue. It is sure to please, and I guarantee you will love it. Here's the trailer to get you started. Enjoy!

In Vogue: Marissa Mayer, Yahoo! CEO, Works It In Fashion Magazine Profile

(Image Via Vogue and realitatea.net)
Being a founder of a national company like Yahoo! is hard work, but CEO Marissa Mayer knows how to take time out of her busy schedule to work the cameras. Take for instance, this spread from this issue of "Vogue", where she stuns in a blue dress. In her interview with the fashion magazine, she says that she is extremely timid, but these pics speak to the contrary. Mayer surely proves that smart and shy girls can still be fashionable and fun, and she is an inspiration to women who want to have it all.

Amp Up Your Spaghetti Supper By Adjusting One Ingredient

If your sick of the same old boring spaghetti, have I got a tip for you. To tell you the truth, I usually am not a fan of traditional spaghetti, and it was even one of my least favorite foods as a kids. Well, this notion that spaghetti was anything but the cat's pajama got thrown out the window when I adjusted one ingredient to my spaghetti. Instead of the same old boring ground beef, I chopped up sirloin steak into bite size pieces and cooked it down until it was nice and tender. Then, I just incorporated the steak pieces into the dish as I would ground beef and presto!! It was an epiphany, and it has taken spaghetti to being one of my least favorite foods to one of my most favorite. So next time your looking for something new and exciting for dinner, remember you can take your spaghetti from drab to fab by simply replacing the ground beef or meet with cut up pieces of sirloin steak. Hope you enjoy!!!!!!

P.S. If you try this out, tell me how it turned out in the comments section below.

Kim Kardashian Commits Major Etiquette Faux Pas After Receiving Gift From Katie Couric

The gift Kim K. didn't want.
(Via celebuzz.com)
What ever happened to the days of being gracious when one received a gift? You know, the time when letter or note saying "than you" was in order whenever someone did something nice to you. Well, in the modern era, those times are long gone, and that is especially the case when it comes to celebrities. They are no longer the proper Princess Graces or Scarlet O'Haras of the past. Instead, those who behave badly are rewarded with lots of money and  a ton of press.

Case in point is Kim Kardashian. The reality TV star and new mom received some pajamas for her baby girl from Katie Couric, and her reply was atrocious. Instead of being courteous and kind, she decided to take the opportunity to take to her Instagram account and call out Couric for comments that she had made about the Kardashian clan. While I understand Kardashian's frustration with Couric, she should have just thanked Couric and left it at that. This caused a major media backlash against Kardashian, and it got lots of people talking about Kim's lack of manners. In my humble opinion, I would say Kim K. should just stay off the web and send a "Thank You" note the next time around. Manners girl, manners!!!!!

Hi to all the readers out there. It's been a while. This summer has been a busy one, and thus I have not been able to blog in a while. I'm going to try to make more of an effort in the upcoming months to blog more often, and I hope you enjoy what you read. While today is going to be focused on plants, I decided to make a blog that focuses more on lifestyle and living so be prepared to see some changes in the upcoming months.
Now that that business is done, it's time for today's post. Recently, we went down to Portland and visited their world famous rose garden. It was truly a blast, and I thought that I could share some pics of our trip with you today. Hope you enjoy.
