Scary Review: American Horror Story: Coven "The Replacements"

(Via www.comicbook.com)
Last night was episode three of "American Horror Story". The show opened with a restless Fiona waking up and going to sit in the parlor. Once there, she sees an image of the former supreme and recalls the time in 1971 when she slit the supreme's throat in order to become the new supreme sooner. As she slits the former supreme's throat, the butler walks into the room, and sits silently as he looks at the scene that goes on. It then goes back to present day where the butler is looking at Fiona as she recollects the incidents, and, the wicked Fiona quips "What's the matter? The cat got your tongue?"  After the credits,Fiona consults with a plastic surgeon about her looks, and has a mini breakdown during the consultation.
Back at the academy, Madame LaLaurie is shocked to see a black President, and Fiona informs her that she will be the new maid. After refusing to serve Queenie, Fiona makes LaLaurie Queenie's personal slave. Later on, a moving van then pulls up to the house next door, and a strapping young fellow takes his shirt off as Madison, Nan, and Queenie look on in delight. The boy's mother, played by Patty Lupone, informs her son to put a shirt back on, and he does so like any obedient Christian boy would.
In the meantime, Zoe is off visiting Kyle's mother, who has an eternal bad hair day it seems. She informs Zoe that she was about to kill herself, but that when Zoe called something told her not to put the noose around her neck. Zoe tells her that she appreciates that, and that one day she will see Kyle again.
Back at the academy, the girls talk about the new neighbor boy, and Nan and Madison decide to go pay the new neighbors, Luke and Joan, a visit. While there, Luke graciously accepts Nan's cake and doesn't give Madison the time of day. When Joan comes in, she informs the girls that they have to leave for Bible study, to which Madison asks why she wants to have anything with a belief that is, and I quote, "a crock of sh!t". She then goes on to ask Luke if he wants a slice of cake, and Joan tries to get the knife out of her hand. When she does this, Madison uses her powers to send the knife flying into the wall, which causes Joan to rush the girls out of her house.
Zoe goes and visits Misty Day, and, after a struggle with Misty, she takes Kyle with her. She drops Luke off to his mom's house. When she sees that Kyle is safe and sound, she leaves to go back to the academy. Unfortunately for her, Kyle's mom is into her son, and she begins to get sexual with him later on.

Meanwhile, Cordelia is struggling with her infertility and Fiona is struggling with aging. Both go to the doctor, and they are informed that nothing can be done. Cordelia can't get pregnant, and Fiona has failing health which will prevent her from getting plastic surgery. Cordelia doesn't take this news well, and she goes to none other to Marie Laveau to help her out. Laveau informs her that there is a ritual that can be done that involves a guinea pepper and a blood having its cut throat over her hooha while her husband's semen boils near a fire, but that it will cost 50,000 dollars. When Cordelia says that she will find a way to come up with the money, Laveau laughs and tells her that she would never do anything to help her since she is the daughter of her "sworn enemy". Cordelia, being the even tempered woman that she is, leaves disappointed.
At the academy, Joan comes, bearing a Bible, to tell Fiona what happened. After Fiona says that she wishes Madison's aim would have been better, Joan tells her she will call the cops. After all, Madison did set her curtains of fire. This gets Fiona's interest as it shows that Madison will probably be the new supreme, which is why Fiona has been feeling sick, tired and old. Madison then enters the room and basically tears Joan a new one until she leaves. Fiona then invites her for lunch.

Zoe gets a call from Kyle's mom inviting her to come over. When she arrives, she finds his mom bludgeoned to death. This is due to the fact that he beat her to death with a trophy for making sexual advances at her. As Zoe turns around, she sees a blood soaked Kyle standing with the trophy, and the scene ends.
Later on that night, LaLaurie is making food for Queenie when Bastian, the Minotaur guy comes by. She locks the door in fear, but Queenie says that she will take care of it. She goes outside with some of LaLaurie's blood on a napkin and tries to have sex with the Minotaur. The Minotaur then attacks her. (Side note: Am I the only one who thinks this whole Minotaur story line is ruining the show due to its stupidity?)
At lunch, Fiona gets Madison to show her more of her power, and she confirms that she is the new supreme. After lunch, they go to a bar, where Fion is ignored, and then back to the acadamy. Once at home, Fiona confesses to Zoe about killing the former supreme. She then hands Madison the knife and tells her to slit her throat like she did when she was young. When Madison refuses, Fiona slits Madison's throat, killing her. Once she is dead, we find out that it was intentional. The butler then enters the room and hands Fiona a napkin to get the blood off of her hands. "This coven doesn't need a new supreme," Fiona says. "It needs a new carpet." Credits roll.

So guys, what did you think of last night's episode? Am I the only one getting annoyed by the Minotaur story line?  Am I the only one that thinks Angela Basset makes the entire show? Tell me in the comments section.
